Teknaf is on the southernmost tip of Bangladesh, on a narrow strip of land with the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Naaf River on the other. The Naaf river forms the border between Bangladesh and Burma82 views

Burmese refugees have settled here on this Bangladesh side of the border. On the way to Teknaf, we passed a few refugee camps. This is not a camp, this is a village. the camps look like refugee camps -hundreds of huts all clustered together w/ UNHCR tarps82 views

the "Bara Khyang", old Buddhist temple in Lamapara (near Cox's Bazaar). this is next to a little town called Ramu which was once a capital of the Burmese Arakan kingdom for 3 centuries80 views
