the very scary and ancient Yeti Airlines propeller plane we flew on (at one point i looked around, and everyone on the plane was frantically praying - my dad was the only person fast asleep!)
the Annapurna range
so cold in Pokhara too. i liked the open fireplaces they have in nepal, you can sit around them (instead of the fireplace being stuck in one corner of the room)
lunch with my dad, by the fireplace and looking out on lake phewa
breakfast in the garden of our hotel by lake phewa
boating on phewa tal (or lake phewa)
snake charmers
washing clothes, begnas tal, another of the lakes around pokhara
school had just let out and we were surrounded by these kids as we walked up the narrow dirt path by Begnas Tal hoping to find a place to get lunch
the path ended at a cluster of huts, not really a restaurant. but the guy had a lot of fresh fish and offered to make us lunch
ducklings, puppies... the moppit was entranced
the first of our cave experiences. we didn't really want to go to this cave, but our driver just took us there and then insisted we see it
so we clambered up and down the dark and slippery cave & finally made it to the breathtaking and not-to-be-missed shiva linga!
this very exciting phallic stone formation, we could only gaze at it in wonder!
the 2nd and last of our cave experiences. this one was actually really interesting and worth the excruciating process. the cave was deep down and pitch dark. we had one lamp with us, which barely shed enough light for one person to walk, let alone 4.
shahrina & i both had panic attacks once we were deep inside the pitch black cave & slipping & sliding on bat shit. got seriously claustrophobic & started freaking out. but then we realized we were surrounded by thousands of these bats!
the bats were fascinating, but we were still freaked out & refused to go any further. here, when we actually reached daylight, we started laughing hysterically, insanely hysterically. fun experience in retrospect
very cute nepali kids
barber shop, every inch covered with posters of hindu gods and goddesses, very colourful
this was my favorite place in pokhara. we went there every day. sit in the sun by the lake, surrounded by the annapurna mountains, drink wine, sip chai, hang out..
